Outbound and Inbound Services

Services tell Aculab Cloud what to do when you want to run outbound applications, and how to handle inbound calls and SMS messages.

What is an Outbound Service?

Outbound Services tell Aculab Cloud how to start UAS or REST applications to handle outbound telephone calls. When you start an Outbound Service, Aculab Cloud matches the name you provide to an Outbound Service Name.

View or edit your Outbound Services.
See How to start applications.

Outbound SMS Messages

Sending outgoing SMS messages does not require an Outbound Service.

See Sending and Receiving SMS Messages.

What is an Inbound Service?

Inbound Services tell Aculab Cloud how to handle incoming telephone calls and SMS messages. When Aculab Cloud receives a call or SMS message it matches the dialled number (SIP username) to an Inbound Service Name.

View or edit your Inbound Services.
See How to start applications.

Inbound SMS messages

An Inbound Servce can reference a Notification Page on your Web Server to handle incoming SMS messages. When an SMS message is sent to the phone number identifying your Service it accesses this page.

See Sending and Receiving SMS Messages.
